So I’m really thinking of spending the weekend in Portland with some friends who have a Web conference to attend [hey Portland homies – check yer mail (except Cherz, who doesn’t post an email address, you chump)]. I won’t be going to the conference, but my last day on the job is Thursday and I have little else to do. All in favor, say Aye. All in not in favor, tell me what else the hell I have to do to prevent me from going. I have a free flight on Southwest and I’m not afraid to use it.

he dances to the tunes coming out of his walkman. he'll set some object on the ground - say - a pair of sunglasses, and he'll start groovin' around them... BUT! Don't you DARE touch those glasses... Oooooooooooo.. He turns into an evil dancing wielding fist man.

You're going to have SO MUCH FUN. Check it: there's Powell's City of Books (best bookstore ever). If you don't get lost in Powell's, there are movie theaters where you can drink beer and eat pizza while you watch movies with tons of leg room because every other row of seats has been replaced by tables (or there are no theater seats, but couches and easy chairs instead). You can drink beer when you're not watching movies, there's excellent food (lots of yummy Thai). The coffee is not too shabby, either. All that in a super laid back city with some of the quirkiest people you'll ever find. What could go wrong?
