i wouldn’t eat that if I were you

At the terrace party on the top floor of the library.
Scenario: there is a keg and a bunch of complimentary hot dogs provided by a local hot dog establishment. Students are milling about, eating, and drinking beer in plastic cups. A friend and I are eyeing the hot dogs.

Me: Excuse me, are these turkey or pork hot dogs? [note: I don’t eat pork.] Hot Dog guy 1: Uh... Hot Dog guy 2: Pork, Chicken, and Beef. Me: [internal dialogue: yikes. which parts of which?] ok, thanks. Friend: I’m not sure I want one anymore. Me: Dude, seriously.

My friend takes a hot dog anyway. Two bites later:

Friend: This tastes funny. Me: [pointing to corner of room] There’s the trash can.

ya know, they told us law school would be full of surprises... i bet a crunchy hot dog was somewhere towards the bottom of that list. but you got it in the first semester! it's a sign, you're going to end up teaching the class. or defending us for party catering malpractice.

the "Friend" in the forgoing tale of woe...ya, that was me. The "hot dog" tasted god-awful, like Spam marinated in dirty Kitchen Sink water and I crunched on something...OH how horrid!

i've always been partial to the corndogs myself. they go great with honey mustard.

"Hotdogs" = high comedy "Franks" & "Corndogs" = serious business I have a weakness for a good frankfurter with the right amount of ketchup, mustard, and relish. Corndogs with ketchup and mustard pretty much 0wnz3r as well. Btw, check out the big brains on Aaron these days: http://onotob.org/article/109/brains

seriously. no food lends itself to comedy quite like hot dogs. and as far as not taking one? you chose wisely, my friend.
