dooood? have you forgotten about River Oaks and Belaire? That's where the money is at. It's quaint to imagine that a bunch of ill-guided proles have put gwb into office, but that's just naive. gwb is in office because really friggin' rich people paid for him to be there. Also - for all real and practical purposes; Katy=Houston; The Woodlands=Houston; Sugarland=Houston in the same way that Round Rock=Austin; Plano (Arlington, Irving, Denton, etc.)=Dallas. It may be fashionable to imagine that Houston's third ward is the only part of houston that is indeed, the real Houston. I like to imagine that suburbs exist as some sort of Bizarro City, but they affect the city in the same as a malignant tumor - they simultaneously consume and define their host while metastasizing. Dig it. Now I'm going to go tell P-Man what his Halloween costume should be.

I stand by my statement. I think Katy, Sugarland, Round Rock, and Plano are much more responsible for Dubya than Houston or Dallas.

correction - houston is definitely more responsible for gwb than dallas (although only barely so), definitely more than crawford (wherein he bought a ranch to support his campaign's mythos) and yes, more responsible than Austin whose chief support for gwb came from the local paper's editorial board. According to dictionary.com: pansexual - Relating to, having, or open to sexual activity of many kinds Dr. Thompson nailed the state of the nation in that article.
