i go to a coffee shop to study with a med school friend. while there, i bitch outloud to her that i have to read "Marbury v. Madison, the mother of all cases." a guy nearby turns around and says, "con law? Marbury is horrid. so confusing." turns out he (and the girl he's sitting with) are first-years at U of H law school. we have the same con law textbook.
ten minutes later, my classmate shows up with his girlfriend. more bitching ensues.
when you can bitch with other people, it always seems like the thing about which you're bitching isn't quite as bad.

i just realized how much of a law dork i just came off as sounding. "the SC decided it had the power to review laws and decide what is and isn't constitutional, which i think is pretty major." but i still think i'm right.

dude. seriously. i have a brief book and i found summaries online. that doesn't stop it from being the mother of all cases. the SC decided it had the power to review laws and decide what is and isn't constitutional, which i think is pretty major. and since when do you get to define what "mother of all cases" means? true.

The mother of all cases should consist of lengthy cases in which no summary can be found. Do you have any idea how many summaries there are of that case, just open any constitutional law study aid dude.
