We've been very lucky. We still have power, but the people acorss the street did lose power last night. Between two of the several power companies in town, one million are without power. This doesn't include the largest provider, Reliant.
Winds right now are topping out at around 20 mph and there is no flooding. I just took the dog out for a walk. The weather guys say we're supposed to be getting strong winds for 12 hours, so it ain't over yet.
edit: winds are actually at 30-40 mph. my sense of wind speed is obviously subpar.

i heard from my friend that it was really dusty at acl and that dirt was in his snot when he blew his nose. sorry if that was too much information.

my neighbor got tickets, but by the time i got going today, i couldn't justify spending $60 for only a half day of festival. and it's f-in' hot! so, i'm going to cheap out & skip the acl. lame. i know.

sunny & warm here in austin with a nice breeze. perfect weather for barton springs or ACL fest! of course, i'm at my friends' house, surfing blogs & reading for tax. i probably should have just stayed in houston, but my landlord texted me & said our power is out. therefore, i am thankful to be in air conditioning right now. evacuating rocks!
