Heather, which big three? Christianity, Buddhism, and Islam? Or Hinduism, Taoism, Judaism, Zoroastrianism, Scientology, Wiccan, or the church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster? I'd actually like to see my kids get an education that covered all those in a humanities-type environment. Unfortunately, it probably won't come until they're in college at the exceptional Angelo State University.

In 11th grade World History class, we studied the big 3 religions & I thought it was really interesting. Granted, it was high school, so no one was paying attention and it was just a general overview, but it opened at least my eyes to other religions & also illustrated how they're fairly similar in many fundamental ways. I'm sure they've burned that teacher at the stake by now. That was in the hedonistic late 80's/early 90's, so I'm sure the education in my hometown has gone right back to gay bashin', cross burnin' and WWJDin'. Boy, I have a great view of my hometown, don't I?!

I concur. However, I don't object to an elective religions class, if they can do it in a non-devotional manner.
