note to self

Now I remember why I never went to Highland Mall when I lived in Austin. It’s fucking impossible to find. Girl and I spent a good 50 minutes total in the car last night getting to the Indian restaurant where we met some friends (the restaurant is across the street from the mall). The food was great, the company was great, the drive sucked. Someone needs to mount a big flashing sign with an arrow that says “HIGHLAND MALL HERE” at the main entrance. That would be great. Thanks.

Also, "Girls On Film" by Duran Duran has been stuck in my head since Thursday.

i've been known to get bad moon rising stuck in my head. please work that into the vaguely lewd montage of song titles you've got going. thank you. i've never been to austin so i have no input on the difficultness of finding the highland mall.

skorloff - imaginary squares aside, i don't think some better signage is too much to ask for, damnit. i lived here for 4.5 years and i still can't remember where the mall is. thomas - was the highland mall hard to find? i bet it was. steve - girls on film in a cradle of love? i like your thinking.

skorloff:

those damned scots. taking over the country one mall at a time.

I just had my first Indian food in Seattle. And weirdly it was right across the street from a Highland Mall.

p-man: do this. use your finger to draw an imaginary square in the air: - the left edge is airport blvd. - the right edge is I-35. - the top edge is St. John's. - the bottom edge is 290/Koenig Ln. in the middle of that square is highland mall.

Okay, yeah, it can be a little tricky because you're dealing with the merger of several main streets/highways right there, but I agree with skorloff, it's really not that difficult. Must be the scratch.

I thought about it some more. I re-read the post, this time on my blackberry. Highland mall is still as easy to find as the capitol building.

That's gotta be better than "Cradle of Love" from Billy Idol ca. 1990

you don't know what you're talking about. i worked there for three years and i think it's perfectly easy to find. maybe the wolverine scratch is getting to you.
