In a first-time event for this blog, the author was prevented from seeing a show because it sold out. I had big plans to see Bloc Party, a great band from the UK, but my big plans to buy a ticket at the door the night of the show didn’t pan out too well. I’ve seen bands at this same venue on weekday nights and bought tickets at the door with no problem. I mean, come on, it’s a Wednesday night. Who sees concerts on a Wednesday? Lots of people, apparently. So many that they couldn’t fit me and my two friends. How lame.
So what did we do instead? Why, drink, of course.
On today’s agenda: clean old apartment, go to dentist for routine cleaning, sulk about Bloc Party. They better come back.

i love those guys! you suck for not going. why didn't you go?? hah. what's up p-man, i feel you've been so distant lately, like more than just inter-state distance, more like a distance of the heart. we must change this. anyway, it would appear from a cursory perusal, that all is well for you. keep up the solid work!

c- yeah, i hope they never get big. i want their popularity level stays strictly in the indie subculture arena. like any good band, i hope the best for them of course, just not international-pop-stardom -expensive-tickets best. j- i had the same problem with The Boucning Souls for a long time. when i finally did see them, it was a total let down. the singer looked pretty run down. i did have to sing along and pump my fists though. it was a punk show after all.

we can sulk together. Same thing happened to me when they played in Dallas - and then I couldn't make it this time. The stars just don't want me and Bloc Party to meet - what calamity could lie in such a meeting?
