No more after this, I promise.
The woman I shared an office with last week is a huge fan of The Police. I like The Police just as much as the next guy, maybe more. I have some LPs (you know, those black vinyl things) and a double live album on CD. But i was not prepared for her cell phone ring of "Don't Stand So Close To Me." After only a couple rings, the song got stuck in my head and I'd spontaneously start singing it at any given moment. And you can bet that I have a pretty bad singing voice. It must have not been pleasant for her, but the way I see it, it was her fault.

When I was a senior in high school, I was selected to play with the University of Washington band at a basketball game. At the time, a girl that I'd had a big thing for in Junior High and High School, who had graduated two years before me attended UW. One of the pieces we played was "Every Little Thing She Does is Magic," and while I played it, it reminded me of the girl who I had the crush on. And, ever since then, whenever I hear the song, it reminds me of the University of Washington, which reminds me of the girl I had the crush on, who I married 9 years later.

steve - every relationship i've had, every girl i've dated, has her song or band. whenever i hear that song or that band, i think of that girl. it's called being a sentimental guy.
pam - glad i could be of service ;)
