Every fall, I take a vacation. This vacation takes place at a nice, open park in Austin, Texas while listening to really good music. This vacation makes me very happy. As of today, I am nine days away from ACL Fest 2007. I am very excited and I wanted to share my Day One (Friday) schedule:
Bela Fleck and the Flecktones
Peter Bjorn and John
Joss Stone/Big Sam's Funky Nation
Spoon
Gotan Project (Woo!)
The Killers (I know they are Top 40, but I like them)
Bjork
Stay tuned for Day Two and Three schedules. I would love to hear anyone's (does anyone read this blog anyway?) feedback.

I have no suggestions. I find outdoor festivals during the hottest time of year to be the worst idea known to man, no matter how kick ass the line up. They need to have this thing in October & maybe then I'll consider shelling out too much money for a ticket, get in for free as a "volunteer" or use someone's wrist band to get in. Not that I'm advocating sneaking in to an overpriced outdoor concert or anything.
Anyway, if you have time for a beer or want to take a break from the dust & heat & take a dip in the Springs, give me a call.

Well that was kinda plaintive sweetie, so I'll admit I read you every day. The happiest post for me was when you discovered Regina Spektor. A. You clearly have impeccable taste. B. I knew about her before you. (Long commute leads to serious NPR habit. - Besides you,NPR is my best source for new music - I don't get out much, obviously) So, when are you going to update us on your love life?

Just noticed that was a pajama girl post not p-man. Oh well, question about love life is still germane perhaps.

I guess some P-man fans were confused and thought the P-man wrote the last entry but alas, I did. Also, I did pay $120 for a 3-day pass but I have the hook-up and will probably get backstage passes for at least one of the days. Last year, I was backstage for one day and got to chill with the Flaming Lips and take shots with Paulo Nutini. That day was one of the most memorable days of my life. It was awesome.
Perhaps in the near future, I will update you on my non-existent love life just for giggles.

I am so completely happy that the infamous Robyn posted a comment. And even better that my guest blogger and roomie Ms. Pajama Grrl made it happen. My week is complete now.
ah, my love life. my love life is top secret. so secret, in fact, that it hardly exists.
Yes, Heather, corporate overpriced rock shows totally suck. it will suck so much when i text you about the cool shows i am seeing while you are sitting around at home :) we will have to get late nite dinner with celeste and Pajama Grrl and her crew. they are all a riot.
I plan on seeing:
Bela Fleck
LCD
QOTSA
Killers or Bjork, can't decide
Kaiser Chiefs
I'd see The Reverend but i've seen them so many times and i don't want to miss a chance to see a UK band that will not be in the US for a while
Muse
Andrew Bird
White Stripes
Bloc Party
Rodrigo y Gabriela
REGINA, God bless her, the most beautiful girl in music.
Leaving for Dallas at 6:30 after Regina's show.

Hey, P-man, I won't be sitting around at home, I'll be at the jail, dealing with family violence arrests. So there! Oh, wait, that really sucks...uh, nevermind. Have fun! And yes, call me for some late night grub. I'd love to meet Pajama Grrl.
